Focus on the G7

Germany has taken on the presidency of the G7 on January 1, 2022. The 2022 G7 Summit, which brought together the heads of state of the seven member countries (Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States), took place in Elmau, in the Bavarian Alps, from 26 to 28 June 2022.

In the past, the G7, which concentrate 46% of the world’s wealth and 76% of official development assistance, has taken important initiatives for global development. This is the reason why many civil society organizations are closely following these negotiations, the outcomes of which can be beneficial or disastrous for the most marginalized populations and for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
