    According to Oxfam’s new Inequality Report 2026, in 2025, billionaire wealth grew three times faster than over the previous five years. This increase is equivalent to the total wealth of the poorest half of humanity. The 3,000-billionaire mark was surpassed for the first time in 2025. Billionaire wealth has increased by 81% since 2020, reaching an all-time high in 2025 at a cumulative $18.3 trillion. Billionaires are 4,000 times more likely to hold a political office than ordinary citizens
