The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as "Agenda 2030" are a series of 17 goals adopted by 193 United Nations member states on 25 September 2015. Through sustainable (economic, environmental, and social) development, the overall objective of this unique framework is to create a better world, and a better life for all, by 2030.

The third edition of our International Development Barometer takes stock of French perceptions of gender equality in France and in developing countries, for which there appears to be widespread support.

It is important to take a step back from the binary arguments for or against, and accept that aid can never resolve every development and poverty issue; but we also know that aid can (and does) help.

This Policy Brief provides a definition of innovative financing for development, and outlines the four principle types of instrument used, including existing examples of mechanisms already in place. One section is dedicated in particular to France's innovative financing tools and policies.
