Which areas do you think international development aid should fund as a priority in your country?
This survey, commissioned by Focus 2030 and conducted by Toluna – Harris Interactive, was carried out online from February 21 to March 12, 2025, with a representative sample of the adult population using the quota method in the following countries: Bangladesh (2,014 people), Brazil (2,054 people), Egypt (2,047 people), Cameroon (1,593 people), Ivory Coast (1,535 people), and Senegal (908 people). Based on the distribution of responses and taking into account the respective sample sizes for each country surveyed, the margin of error (or confidence interval) for this study is 1 to 3.1 percentage points.
The following segmentations allow the survey results to be viewed according to responses to questions testing the values of those surveyed:
- Government action priority: responses to the question “In your opinion, what should be your government’s priority action?”
- Reducing inequality (38%)
- Promoting economic growth (62%)
- Preferred approach to global challenges: responses to the question ”
In your opinion, what is the most effective approach to tackling major global challenges (climate crisis, pandemics, inequality, etc.)? ”- International cooperation: countries must join forces to find common solutions (64%)
- National sovereignty: each country must first and foremost defend its own interests (36%)
- Perception of societal change: responses to the question “When comparing today’s society to that of the past, would you say that:”
- Things are better now (47%)
- Things were better before (53%)
