In this short UN film, that’s the question asked to passers-by, and the hesitant answers make the point better than any statistic could. Adopted in 2015 as a universal roadmap to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure peace and prosperity for all, the SDGs remain more talked about by institutions than understood by the public: only 10% of French adults say they actually know what they are.
With five years left on the 2030 Agenda timeline, that awareness gap is itself part of the challenge.
