    #Education

On the occasion of January 24, International Day of Education, Coalition Éducation is sounding the alarm: the multiplication of crises is driving up global education needs, while funding is declining due to the rapid and simultaneous disengagement of several major donors. Education aid could thus fall by around 25% between 2023 and 2027.

These shortfalls have considerable human and economic costs. UNESCO estimates the cost of lack of schooling and educational gaps at $10 trillion per year, which also increases the risks of violence and exploitation, and could lead to up to 200,000 deaths by 2030.

In response, the organization calls on donors to preserve and strengthen their funding for education, and urges the international community to make it a central pillar of development policies, grounded in respect for human rights.

According to Oxfam’s new Inequality Report 2026, in 2025, billionaire wealth grew three times faster than over the previous five years. This increase is equivalent to the total wealth of the poorest half of humanity. The 3,000-billionaire mark was surpassed for the first time in 2025. Billionaire wealth has increased by 81% since 2020, reaching an all-time high in 2025 at a cumulative $18.3 trillion. Billionaires are 4,000 times more likely to hold a political office than ordinary citizens

    #TrumpVSClimate

350.org denounces a “historic mistake” following the United States’ withdrawal from the UNFCCC and from 66 international organizations, considering this decision dangerous for people, the climate, and the U.S. economy, even as international cooperation has already helped reduce the trajectory of global warming. The NGO believes this choice isolates Washington diplomatically, undermines its competitiveness in the transition to renewable energy, while not stopping the global momentum in favor of climate justice and the phase-out of fossil fuels.
