How ODA can benefit France on the international stage

    Published on 25/07/2018.

72% of French people either agree or do not disagree with the idea that there is a link between French development aid to the poorest countries and France’s standing on the international stage.

Official Development Assistance is seen as likely to enhance visibility or power of the donor country.

These results confirm the international dimension of development issues.

Only 18% of French people do not identify a positive spillover internationally for France from its development spending.

This data comes from our survey conducted by the YouGov Institute and piloted by the research team at University College London and the University of Birmingham as part of the project Aid Attitudes Tracker which measures the evolution of opinions and behaviors on issues of international solidarity in four countries.
