French people and the Sustainable Development Goals

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), much like their predecessor the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), are not well-known in France. However, the individual subjects covered by the SDGs are probably fairly well known as important issues by the French public, even if there is also confusion over the title "Sustainable Development" which, in France, is instantly linked to the energy transition, climate change or any other environmental issue rather than a reference to global poverty and international development issues. The results which we present in this section must be seen in this light.
