Understanding the state of gender inequalities in the world

99.5 years: that’s how long it would have taken to achieve gender equality. The Covid-19 pandemic and its consequences have increased this wait even further: it will now take 136.5 years to close the gender gap.

SDG 5: "Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls" is a cross-cutting component of all the Sustainable Development Goals for 2030. Without achieving gender equality, we cannot achieve a sustainable world.
