In terms of the priorities for development aid, the majority of French people agree on a rather consensual list of issues in 2018:
– world hunger
– access to health
– access to education
– humanitarian crises
– women’s empowerment
Despite these consensual themes, between 15% and 18% of French people are unable to identify priorities for development aid. This percentage illustrates a distance between French people and development issues.
This data comes from our survey conducted by the YouGov Institute and piloted by the research team at University College London and Birmingham University as part of the project [Aid Attitudes Tracker- https://devcommslab.org/about/] which measures the evolution of opinions and behaviors on issues of international solidarity in four countries.
