French enthusiasm for travelling abroad

Published 10 August 2018 in Surveys

49% of French people say they have travelled abroad in the last three years.
This figure includes tourism and business travel.

Part of these trips are probably made within the European Union, boosted by the availability of low-cost airlines.

This practice (on the rise) indicates a relative interest that the French have in what lies outside of national borders, elsewhere, in foreign countries.

This data comes from our survey conducted by the YouGov Institute and piloted by the research team at University College London and Birmingham University as part of the project Aid Attitudes Tracker which measures the evolution of opinions and behaviors on issues of international solidarity in four countries.
