The number of French people who have studied abroad remains low (10%).
This figure includes studies carried out in Europe via the Erasmus European program (which probably accounts for the vast majority). In other words, far from development issues.
However, this figure, denotes a concrete experience of confrontation with cultural diversity (the elsewhere) which is experienced by 10% of the French - in particular the youngest generation.
This data comes from our survey conducted by the YouGov Institute and piloted by the research team at University College London and Birmingham University as part of the project Aid Attitudes Tracker which measures the evolution of opinions and behaviors on issues of international solidarity in four countries.
